Jack M. Balchus

Jack Balchus is vice president of development at Kaplan Residential. With an impressive track record of developing more than one million square feet of office and industrial space, over 20,000 residential units, and 35+ years of senior management experience, he is recognized as a leader in his field.

Balchus works closely with the firm’s acquisition, design, and construction teams to ensure the timely delivery of single-family townhomes, multifamily assets, condominiums, and mixed-use projects. In addition to his role with Kaplan Residential, he is passionate about collaborating with municipal and civic organizations to improve the landscape for affordable and work-force housing projects.

Outside of the residential sector, Balchus has also developed numerous retail shopping centers, hotels, historic renovations, and senior housing communities. Prior to joining Kaplan Residential, he oversaw development for large-scale projects, such as The Carlton Club, Inland Ryerson Building Systems (a division of Inland Steel), Sun Trust Bank, Oxford Construction Services, and CED Construction.
