Michael Robertson

Michael Robertson serves as preconstruction manager at Kaplan Residential. With over 35 years in the commercial construction industry, Robertson directs the firm’s pre-construction services and conceptual cost modeling, as well as the business’ analytics for the construction division.

Robertson has managed the preconstruction and building process of assisted living developments, memory care facilities, independent living facilities, dormitory housing, multifamily communities, entertainment venues, hospitality establishments, K-8 schools, and higher education campuses. Some notable projects he’s worked on include the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Grand Cayman, Monad Terrace in South Beach Miami, and L’atelier of Miami Beach. Additionally, Robertson has experience in the public sector building heavy civil and commercial projects, including the Elm Haven in New Haven, CT with a 450 unit development over multiple inner city sites. He has also fulfilled federal contracting work for the Department of Defense, FEMA, General Services Administration, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Robertston began his education at the University of New Haven in the Civil Engineering Program before completing a Business Administration degree at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Robertson is dedicated to his community and fulfilling his civic responsibilities. From 2009 to 2013, he served two consecutive terms as board member of the Financial Planning & Allocation Commission (FIPAC) for the Town of Columbia, Connecticut, and in his free time he enjoys coaching youth basketball teams, as well as volunteering at the Palm Beach Food Bank and Cradles to Crayons.
